Bass Guitar Lesson 10 - Melodic Minor Bass Scale:
In addition to common scales, "BASS GUITAR: Total Scales Techniques and Applications" also teaches cultural and exotic scales in every position on the fretboard of the bass guitar. This example is from Page 127 teaching the Melodic Minor Scale, (continued from page 126). The 2006 edition offers an example of classical theory at the bottom of the page, where many writers would mix the melodic minor with the natural minor scales.

CLASSICAL THEORY: Composers of classical music often use the Melodic Minor scale ascending, then use the natural minor scale of the same key to descend as in the example below.
