Page 15 ARPEGGIO: The sounding of the tones of a chord in succession rather than at the same time. Simply put, this is picking out the individual notes of a chord rather than strumming them. You can play the notes with a pick or with the fingers of your picking hand. PLUCKING The exercise below sounds notes on the 6th and 1st string at the same time. You can use a pick for the 6th string note and a finger for the 1st string, or you can use your fingers for the entire technique.
